Safety Update

Clarksville resident Jen spearheaded a visit to our September General Membership meeting from the Downtown Area Rapid Response Team (DART) to remind the OWANA community that for crime prevention to be effective, evidence needs to be gathered.

Particularly for prosecution to happen, resident participation is required: report your stolen items, call when you see something off, and take photos and footage of incidents whenever possible.

The activities of an individual, based out of a residence that has historically been a nuisance, was discussed at great length.

OWANA residents remain frustrated that there doesn’t appear to be a long term solution in light of persistent issues. The visiting DART officer gave us guidance on how to move these issues to better resolution.

Actions we can take:

  • Connect with the prosecutor on the case and help put pressure there.
  • The more evidence and testimonials, the better.
  • Take photos and videos of incidents whenever possible, and report all nuisance issues as well as serious issues.
