Posted Tuesday, March 2, 2010
It’s My Park Day, a community service day sponsored by the Austin Parks Foundation and an opportunity for neighborhoods to work on their parks and/or green space, is scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm (or until 5:00 pm if necessary).
We welcome volunteers of all ages, including children. All volunteers who want a t-shirt and other goodies must register on the Parks Foundation website by Wednesday (3/2/2010) morning.

REGISTER for West Austin Park
More information about the projects can be found when you click on the links. More information about It’s My Parks Day can be found on the Austin Parks Foundation web site.
There are several other opportunities in our area to participate in It’s My Park Day. Work will be done at Mary Baylor Park and volunteers are needed. Contact Teri Taylor at texasteri@gmail.com if you want to help at Mary Baylor Park.
If you cannot help with the West Austin Park, the Clarksville Community Gardens, or Mary Baylor Park, an effort to green up front sidewalks/curb gutter areas/ open green spaces or maybe helping a neighbor on Saturday is an effort towards It’s My Parks Day. We’d like to use March 6 as an opportunity to green up the neighborhood. Any effort will be greatly appreciated!

All the hard work will be celebrated with a potluck picnic lunch at West Austin Park at 1:00. Please bring a dish to share with the volunteers and neighbors.
Weather forecast for Saturday: High of 70; 30% chance of rain.
